Planning Permission Granted
Yes. Got the planning permission from the mayor. He obviously like the fabulous plans done by my good friend Rick who has really pulled the stops out. He did all the drawings and, having been through the french house process himself 16 years ago, he is spot on with his architect plans. He also introduced me to Monsieur Larressat who did his building work in his and Mol's house in the Lantabaat valley. Lots of relatives live in the valley, and relatives of relatives - it's full on Pays Basque land.
So, clutching Permis de Construction I'm back to France on December 5 to meet up with the building gang - and I'm told - work can start immediately. The house at present only has cold water and electricity, so I'm taking a 13.5 tog duvet with me. Could get chilly at this time of year.

What do you do when you reach OAP invisibility and have no ties? A farm in France could be the solution, especially when you didn't mean to buy it but got seduced by a gay ex-shepherd turned estate agent who sells you an abode in Carresse-Oraas. This is an adventure.
