Well the balcony is up, the new shutters are on and lashings of paint is needed. I've been told to take the paint with me and I found fabulous Dulux emulsion at a superlative price in Ginormous tins - then I've been told that you can't move flammable stuffs in trucks across the channel. That's one thing I'm learning, there's good advice and then there is counter good advice.

Daughter Sian is married and currently honeymooning with Ian in the Far East, enjoying the eco wotsit of Borneo and other luscious spots. But I'm off to Oraas next week to check up on the final works - it's supposed to be the final works but then Guillhaume has ignored my, and Rick's emails, so who knows. If the wood burning stove is not working, I'm going to freeze. And if the beams are not sanded, I'm not going to be able to clean. But there's is nothing new there on the moving it along front. If you're not there, you can't hope for stuff to be done, everyone is swannning off doing other people's work who are shouting louder and on site.

As for life on the building site in Manchester - the flat is still not sold and the work being done on the coach house means that it's full scale wellies to get to my house as the rain, potholes, slush and everything else besides continues to make life unbearable. But who cares I'm off to Oraas.
